Regen Tree Service Corporation (“Regen”) is one of Calgary’s fastest growing full-service arbor companies providing a full suite of services to customer in Calgary and the surrounding areas. Our core services are tree trimming/pruning, tree removals (including hazard tree removal), stump grinding and tree planting.

JOB SUMMARY: An Arborist Assistant is responsible for assisting the crew with site maintenance and clean up in addition to operating and maintaining equipment. This is an entry level position with opportunities for growth and advancement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide groundwork support for trimming/removal operations, including dragging and removing tree limbs;

· Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them;

· Operate equipment (i.e. wood chipper) while efficiently loading brush materials;

· Support Crew Leader with site setup, debris removal and equipment maintenance;

· Maintain job site through raking and leaf blowing;

· Safely rig down tree limbs, as applicable;

· Abide by Regen’s and industry safety policies and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Value Alberta Class 5 driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement are considered an asset;

· Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs

· Valid First-Aid and CPR certificates are considered an asset;

· Previous experience in landscaping, forestry, general labour, and experience with operation of a chainsaw is considered an asset;

· Ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment (or willingness to learn how to);

· Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (i.e. storm work) and be subject to call-out work (within reason);

· Team player with a commitment to safety and drive for personal growth and development.

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
