The Contract Tree Planter is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks consisting of primarily physical labour to assist the Crew Lead in completing large scale planting (trees and shrubs), ecological restoration and habitat creation projects.
Minimum Requirements & Work Conditions:
Ability to report directly to job sites in various locations, and/or carpool from our shop located in Ayr, Ontario
Come prepared for work each day: appropriate safety and workwear (ie. steel toed work boots/shoes, hi-visibility uniform, hard hat, rain gear, sun protection), and sufficient food and water for the workday
Learn and practice using the required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
Ability to work with hand tools and materials
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with varied work hours (approximately 10 hours per day) and occasional weekend work
Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
Job Types: Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 10 months
Pay: $18.50-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
